This holiday, we encourage you to find stability and joy in the customs that have persisted for generations. Though the world may sometimes feel uncertain, the enduring spirit of the holidays can provide comfort, connection, and hope.
The past few years have challenged us in profound ways, but the holiday season reminds us of the enduring human spirit. Where we once all commuted daily to offices, many of us now weave work into the tapestry of our homes. Technological changes both invigorate and unsettle us. Yet through it all, the great holiday traditions persist.
For some, the holidays may be dismissed as a merely childish tradition, a celebration meant mainly for the young. But wait, those in the original Christmas story were mostly adults – shepherds, wise men, and loving parents gathered around a newborn. We suggest that regardless of your beliefs, the holiday spirit has equal benefit for the young and old and there is wisdom in recapturing that sense of childlike wonder. As the author Ursula K. Le Guin wrote, ” The creative adult is the child who survived. This season offers an opportunity for all, young and old, to participate in the time-honored rituals that bring us together. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, or observe the season in your own unique way, there is power in shared traditions that transcend individual beliefs.
On behalf of all of us at Zenger Folkman, we wish you and your family a warm, meaningful, and inclusive holiday season.
